Tom told me he would be happy with 1 Wye barbel but ended up with 15 the last being the best at 7lb10oz which he managed to watch take his bait in the margins.
I was well pleased for him and my own 6 barbel that I managed.
All together over the last 4 days we have banked 75 barbel

After a hectic few days the Barbel await

It seems like every day is very hectic at the minute with all that's going on, I have been busy writing a couple of articles for the Anglers Mail. I am not sure why it required taking 588 pictures just to get the 2 required for the articles but I think it has something to do with Tom liking my new camera and finding the continuous shooting mode can fire off about 20 frames a second!!!

I have 3 work shifts left and then its off to the Severn valley for 4 days fishing with Barbel being the number 1 target, a day on the lovely river Wye is also planned.

I will keep you updated how the trip progresses

Busy day

I have had a busy day today, i am preparing for a presentation i am doing for the barbel specialists group in Northampton on sunday.

Also today I have give my Pond a good clean out, the fish are feeding well now so create plenty of mess and stir up the bottom looking for food.

i keep a couple of Barbel in my pond in along with my Koi, i know this doesnt meet with everyones approval but hey ho never mind its a free world and judging by the fact they have grown from the 4 inchs or so they were when i put them in about 4 years ago to about 15 inchs or so today

Hi this is my first go at blogging I hope to be able to keep you up to date as the season goes on
