All smiles for Lee

Lee hayes with one of plenty of barbel he has managed from the River Severn this week, when plenty are struggling Lee has managed to catch a few every day, the river is low and clear and fish have been hard to come by, all the same Lee has adapted well to the condtions and put a few on the bank.

Back To My Roots

As a youngster I served my angling apprenticeship on the rivers of Broadland and up until a few years ago when I swapped the match scene for pleasure fishing I spent many happy hours fishing on rivers like the Bure and Yare.

Today I got out the camera and took a walk along the River Yare match length at Beauchamp Arms, it was a glorious day but as always on the Yare there was a fairly brisk wind.

Glenn Hubbard on his way to 15lb of roach on the pole

Match winner was old mate Nigel Knights with over 30lb of skimmers and roach and over 15lb was needed to win in any of the sections. Top weights came to the feeder with plenty of chopped worm and a bit of worm and a flouro maggot  on the hook.

Matt Crowe with over 17lb of prime roach on the feeder

Work Work and more Work

Work is very busy at the minute and working some extra shifts has put a stop to any fishing for a day or two, it will be 2nd week of July before I can get out again, but fear not I will make up for the missed sessions later in the season.

The rivers are running very low and clear at the minute and it means an early or late session will often be more productive and adapting to the conditions by altering your rig, bait and approach will always pay off.

Got plans to fish the Severn, Trent and the Warks Avon in the next few weeks, then it will be time for Frans, Tjitske and Linda to visit us from Holland.

Little Florence continues to do well and I have spoke to Korum to see if we can get a special one piece suit made for the coming winter!!!
