Back Home Again

After a most enjoyable few days in Holland with Frans and the rest of the Thunderbirds, its back home, gear to sort, e mails to catch up on and some articles to write.

Many Thanks to Frans and Tjitske and not forgetting Linda who have been our hosts in Holland for the last week, Sonia and Myself would like to thank you so much for looking after us so well.
We have had a busy last few days, and took time out from the fishing to visit the war museums and the War cemetery near Arnhem, an experience I will not forget and also reminds us why we should never forget our history and those who gave their lives for our freedom.

The ferry crossing back to England was a bit rough yesterday evening, here are some pictures of the sea

New Dutch Barbel Record

Fishing the Waal tonight for a short session I managed to break the Dutch Barbel record with a barbel of 87cm with the old record standing at 85cm. The barbel was a long lean fish weighing in at around 11.08 (5.25kg) so in english terms its not a monster but with the Dutch paying more interest in fish length than weight this would be a new record.

Funny old place

As you can see food has now run out at Camp Thunderbird its down to eating gruel out of the saucepan

Some how Frans managed to find some Chocolate pudding whilst I had to put up with the Gruel
